Sacagawea in fiction - Sacagawea pictures

Sacagawea was a long term subject to a several publications, novels and feature films. The fact that wide knowledge of this heroine and a pioneer followed after the publication of a novel The Conquest: The True Story of Lewis and Clark written by Eva Emery Dye almost one hundred years the expedition took place.

There are no known images or photographs ever recorded of this woman. Every image is an artist rendition of a possible likeness.

Some of the publications dabble with fiction and several events were made up for the story context and modern Hollywood type love stories suggesting that vSacagawea even had a love affair with Clark or Lewis.

The story was retold in that manner in a 1955 western movie The far Horizons.

She became popular historical character and has featured in many popular documentaries and educational material.

Modern day portrayal even included several Hollywood comedies - Night at the Museum.
